There's a difference worth knowing. Generic modal exists, but Lenzing Modal™ is produced in Austria by Lenzing AG to some of the highest environmental standards in textile manufacturing.
It's long been the fabric of choice for premium bedding brands across Europe and the US — sought out for its extraordinary softness, elegant drape, and credentials that actually stack up. So why has it taken this long to arrive in Australian bed linen?
Partly supply chain. Partly habit. Australian brands have largely built their identities around French
flax linen and bamboo — both beautiful fabrics — and few have gone looking beyond what's already familiar. Lenzing Modal™ requires a specific supplier relationship and a willingness to work with something that isn't already on everyone's fabric menu.
We went looking. The fibre is made from sustainably harvested beechwood — a renewable raw material that's biodegradable, compostable, and leaves no harmful microplastic residue. Compared to conventional synthetic fibres, its production consumes less energy and water, with lower carbon emissions. We chose it because it's better — for your bed, and for how things should be made.
